More Info & Contact Details:
Musical children (8 years and over) who play any musical instrument are being encouraged to participate in the 2017 Sidmouth Seaside Stompers Ceilidh Band Workshop. This gives an amazing opportunity to be part of a real ceilidh band and playing for a very special ceilidh as part of the Sidmouth FolkWeek programme.
Workshops run every day during the festival (Saturday to Thursday) with a superb group of extremely talented and experienced tutors. The 2017 tutors are Ray Langton (musical director) – melodeon, Josh Smallbone - guitar, Stephen France - brass, Adam Courthold & Rob Gifford - percussion, Mathew Keegan-Phipps & Catherine Gough - woodwind, Anna Mullens – fiddle.
The Sidmouth Seaside Stompers will work together with their tutors to learn ceilidh band music to play for a wonderful, evening ceilidh in the Blackmore Gardens Marquee. This will provide a truly memorable experience for those playing for the event.
All children must have their own instruments and be able to play a number of tunes from music or by ear (approximately Grade 2 standard).
Music will be provided and parts for all instruments and all abilities will be available.
This is a very exciting opportunity for young musicians to work with others, learn new music and then to perform to an audience on the Thursday night in the Blackmore Gardens Marquee.
