The organisers of the Wadebridge Folk Festival have announced that the 2010 festival will be headlined by folk legends Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick. Swarbrick and Carthy, who originally performed together in the late sixties, are touring together for the first time in fourteen years, in a startlingly intense reunion from this legendary, ground-breaking duo.

The ever swelling artist list of the festival also includes Andy Irvine, Dogan Mehmet abd the Deerhunters, Steve Turner, Barron Brady, whistle wizard Phil Hardy, and many more.

The festival is being organised for the fourth year running by the traditional musical instrument company Hobgoblin Music, who have a shop in Wadebridge. Owner Pete McClelland said "We've had such a good response since we took on the festival, both from people who live in the town, and from festival goers from all over the country... Everyone is delighted that the festival has been kept alive, and it has been going from strength to strength each year, with 2010 promising to be the biggest event yet".

Major New Sponsor Announced - Skinners Brewery

The growing festival has attracted a major new sponsor for 2010, Skinners Brewery who brew the famous Betty Stoggs ale and many other local favourites. Skinners Brewery will be serving food and drink at the Wadebridge Town Hall Main Stage during the festival.

Wadebridge is a beautiful scenic town in the heart of North Cornwall, and is within easy reach of many popular places of interest. This year, the Wadebridge Folk Festival will span several major venues, and feature afternoon and evening concerts and ceilidhs, street entertainment, children's entertainment, workshops (including whistle workshops with whistle maker Phil Hardy) and sessions.

Tickets to the festival will go on sale on 1st May 2010, with early bird discounts available until the end of June.
